In February of 2009, Sacred Heart Parish in Palos Hills, Illinois was the site of an Evening of Eucharistic Renewal at which Anne, a lay apostle spoke about the lay apostle’s need to listen to, learn about and follow Jesus’ example as set out in Scripture. With humor and down to earth examples, Anne motivated the audience to seek out the Divine will by being faithful to the duties of our vocations.

Anne is then interviewed by Nora McCarthy, Re-Charge Youth Coordinator, and gives a brief description of the discernment process which young men and women go through after they first recognize that they are called by the Lord to serve Him in this apostolate. She provides clarity and reassurance, explaining how they are shepherded as they seek to understand their role in the Kingdom of God.

Fr. Darragh Connolly, Chaplain of the Mission, then shares his joy in serving alongside the young men and women who are dedicated to the Lord and serving in this apostolate. Through his experience, he confirms that the Church both wants and needs the many and varied talents that young people offer.

On August 16, 2008, a Eucharistic Day of Renewal was held at the Holy Trinity Abbey in Kilnacrott, Ireland. 2,000 lay apostles were there to participate in the day’s events, the highlights of which you can now enjoy by watching this live recording. Talk One - Change is difficult but necessary. With gentle persuasion, Anne urges lay apostles to abandon themselves to the God’s divine will in order to usher in the Age of Obedience. Listen in as Anne Shares instructions from Jesus on how to become holy apostles.

Talk Two - Anne encourages lay apostles to concern themselves with two things: personal holiness and the coming of God’s Kingdom.

Talk Three - Dr. Mark Miravalle reminds us that God has consistently intervened throughout history with graces and miracles. He explains from a theological standpoint how Anne and the apostolate are in full obedience with the Church. We also learn about the two graces which are promised to those who come to the Holy Trinity Abbey- interior clarity and an increased capacity to love.

Many young Catholics do not understand the importance of their role in the Church. When young people fulfill their vocation, they are simply following God's plan for them. The Re-Charge Team is committed to helping young people discover how God has given each one specific talents and gifts. Anne, a lay apostle, offers her wisdom and insight into the spiritual meaning of suffering. Char Vance interviews Anne as she describes the great benefit we receive when we pick up our cross and accept the suffering that Jesus places in our life. Anne explains that we must claim the joy that comes from knowing our God loves us, accompanies us in our trials, and uses these experiences to bring us to greater holiness.
