What: An Adult Faith Formation weekend given by Anne, a lay apostle, Fr. Darragh Connolly, and Margaret McGahon, MS, MIAHIP.  Given the world we live in, it is understandable that we often seek relief in unhealthy ways.  Jesus has a need for direct, vertical contact with each follower during these distracting and confusing times. And so, we teach contemplative prayer as a remedy to the mind pollution of the times and as a way of staying directly connected to our Shepherd.

“In this time, where most of us suffer from some level of mind pollution, meaning, unruly and impulsive thoughts, deeds and negative patterns,…We are going to have to work hard to become thoughtful men and women of God. And then we will have to use discipline to remain thoughtful men and women of God.” – Anne, a lay apostle, Sept 2013

The curriculum for the weekend content includes: challenging our negative thoughts, feelings and beliefs, self-awareness, neuroplasticity, boundaries, resilience, the love of God, teachings from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, contemplative prayer and more. The talks include group discussion and interaction.  The curriculum will have a strong emphasis on human formation necessary to live out our vocations.  The human development component provides an educational and healing agent, which, when combined with our spirituality (contemplative prayer and compassionate listening), the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, should give us a whole new understanding of living the Trinitarian life.
